Eman 7.00 release notes (2021-05-13)

Eman 7.00 release notes

It has been a long time since I was able to make a new release for Eman. I hope this version is worth the wait 8-)

Changes
  • Null move pruning: Tweak to reduce the frequency of NMP if a previous NMP was executed for the same color
  • SugaR experience: Eman now uses the same experience format as SugaR which proved to be better than the previous Eman experience format. This change will improve experience usage during normal search as well as experience-book feature. Your existing experience file will be automatically migrated to the new format without losing anything. The new file size will be 25% less.
  • Merged all recent Stockfish updates from development branch
Eman Tools is now outdated and not compatible with version 7.00, please use SugaR Experience Tools to merge, defrag, and create experience files
I will provide an update to Eman Tools that supports the new format later on

Good work. Eman 7.00 is like a sharp knife. Tactically very sharp.

Thanks for new version!

Experience book feature is more like SugaR's one now anyhow, isn't it?
Max. moves instead of min depth as UCI- params and so always taken as book move if there's any entry in experience- file, up to move number given, right?

At first trials it looks a little less reliable as for LTC, engine takes move out of experience file if there is any, and so gives away (spares) much ponder- time, mostly good for STC if experience- entries are good, but I'd say, as for little trying up to now, I'd rather not use it anymore as for LTC- games.
Till now you simply could set a high depth in Experience Book Min Depth option and thus yet be rather selective as for experience- book and LTC.

Will SugaR Experience Tool work with Eman 7 without evaluating the moves stored in .pgn now too as SugaR does?
So learn as for evals only from games with evals already stored in .pgn?

Thanks again regards
Peter

So do we have to use Sugar tools with a Sugar engine?

As for SugaR Experience Tool 2.0 this is so, isn't it? Only SugaR- binaries to be chosen in dialog.
If this Tool works as it did, there isn't any new evaluating of positions stored in .pgn- games anyhow, just the along with the moves stored evals (if any) are taken, so the engine itself doesn't do any pondering anyhow, does it?
Just as far as I know regards

Gracias Khalid
Pero tengo una duda. Enfrenté en mi Fritz 17 a Eman 6.95 y Eman 7.0 y mi sorpresa fue que ganó Enan 6.95 ¿ Es posible Khalid? Gracias
